New Products

I decided to pop over to Westfield Stratford In London. I was shopping to buy some bits for a friends birthday, and ended up treating myself to a few makeup products.

From MAC I purchased Teddy kohl liner £14 and from super drug I got the new Maxfactor Excess Volume mascara £9.99 (on offer usually (12.99) and Maybelline Brow Mascara in dark brown £4.99.

The Maxfactor Mascara is a two step process with the first priming and lengthening and the second layer thickening.

The first picture below is of one eye with the first Maxfactor mascara coat, the second is with the second layer and also Teddy in the waterline and I have used the Brow mascara as well.

As you can see it does make the eyelashes longer and thicker I was quite surprised how much my lashes looked like they had been curled. I'm loving the teddy eyeliner I usually use Smoulder but wanted a dark brown for day time use. It's got a lovely consistency and a slight shimmer really lovely colour. The Brow mascara has tamed my eyebrows and filled in the little gaps I have. I wouldn't say you would achieve the HD brow look with this product but ideal for making them look neater a tidier . I would recommend all of these products and they will definitely stay in my makeup kit.

Sorry for my extremely pale face I'm just in the process of doing a tan review. X

Sweet treats

I was very fortunate to only suffer nausea from 7 to 9 weeks of my pregnancy, then at 13 weeks it returned. I started feeling sicky in the morning and then before my dinner, probably from hunger more than anything. I really don't want to snack on biscuits so have hunted for something a bit more healthy and I could keep with me so if hunger strikes I can be prepared.

I found nairns oat biscuits in a snack pack in Waitrose they cost £1.70 and have nine packets each containing two biscuits. Flavours include 3 packets of Mixed Berries, 3 packets of Fruit & Spice and 3 packets of Stem Ginger. They are so handy I keep a couple of packs in my bag for during the day and take a pack to bed to eat when I wake up.

The Stem Ginger is great for sickness and nausea and nairns do have full packs of ginger biscuits. The biscuits are only 88 calories per pack, wheat free recipe with no artificial colourings, flavourings & preservatives. These definitely get the thumbs up from me I'm even enjoying some Stem Ginger now!

If you have any other healthy snacks I could try please comment below. X

From the beginning

I didn't want to bore you from the complete beginning but wanted to start with some history. I was born in 1983 and lived in a small village in Hertfordshire called Wyddial. Growing up I was a keen horse rider and gym bunny.

I started as a beauty therapist in 1999 and in 2010 I took my love of makeup to the next step and started doing photo shoots for editorials, tv commercials, magazines. Word of mouth meant lots of makeup jobs for up and coming designers and various magazines kept me extremely busy as well as running and owning a spa in Hertfordshire.

I met my fiancé Grant in 2007 whilst working in a nightclub (he was a dj) and after many attempts (by him) I finally gave in a we started dating. His charm and cheekiness won me over and in 2009 we moved in together. I was then told by doctors I had endometriosis a condition which is very common and affects every woman differently. We were told to start trying for a family and after three years IVF was our only avenue. Being in the "unexplained infertility" realm is quite daunting and having a phobia of needles isn't a great start.

Our IVF journey had many highs and lows my full diary can be seen here (be warned its long) http://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=299447.0

I feel very lucky to be able to say I'm now 14 weeks pregnant.

This is my first blog post and I will be bringing all things baby, beauty & beyond to my future posts hope you all enjoy xxx
